1988 Federal Waterfowl Duck Stamp Print. Redheads by Arthur Anderson. This Federal duck stamp print has been custom framed by our family’s custom retail frame shop. It is frame with conservation grade acid-free materials plus UV blocking glass to protect and preserve this limited edition print for generations. The frame is solid wood with a beautiful dark walnut stained veneer that brings out the beauty of the fall trees in the background. The matting is a beige suede that plays off the light and shadows of the feathers of these beautiful Redheads. The accent mats are black and a textured tan, brown, and black. All the colors are a neutral palette that bring out the natural beauty of the colors and texture in the ducks feathers. About the artist – As presented on the print folio. This was Arthur Anderson’s fifth time to enter the Federal contest. He decided to paint the Redhead because “They are a pretty bird, they hadn’t won in a number of years and they frequent all the flyways making them a well known bird”. When the call came from the U. The frame is solid wood with a beautiful walnut finish and heavily distressed to reflect the rugged nature of the marsh. The matting is beige suede and bronze accent underneath. All the colors are a neutral palette that bring out the natural beauty of the colors and texture in the geese feathers. White-fronted geese are a favorite species of waterfowl hunters and birders, alike. The white-fronted geese are also called “speckled bellies” because of the distinctive dark barring on the mature bird’s belly. They have a melodic, yodeling call that’s very different from other species of geese. Texas is a wintering hotspot for white-fronted geese. Minnesota artist Robert Hautman hails from a family of artists, including his mother and two brothers. All three brothers have painted art that was selected for Federal Duck Stamps.
