The 1999-00 Topps Gold Label base set includes 100 cards and each is printed in 3 classes, Class 1 being the base, and Class 3 being the rarest, inserted 1:8 packs. With a 100-card set, pulling the regular Class 3 Kobe is 1:800 packs. There’s also a black label for each class. The Class 3 Black Label is 1:48 packs, making the Kobe 1:4800 packs. Calculating the total number of packs using the odds of pulling serial-numbered cards, I found that 799,500 packs were produced. Divide that by 4800 and you find that 167 cards were produced of each Class 3 Black Label! The total PSA POP for this card is 7 (three 8s, three 9s, one 10). I believe this card will grade 9 for the reasons explained below. This card has perfect, razor-sharp corners and edges. Also, the centering appears to be perfect. The only thing preventing this from being gem mint is minor surface imperfections. The front surface has a couple spots in the top-right corner, some of which are part of the card and are on all copies. The back has a couple horizontal lines near the top. The surface issues are minor, no scratches that indent and nothing that can be seen except by close examination.
