Norfolk’s 1947 “Ball Bay” stamps were printed on toned paper by a flat bed recess printer. Reprints of some values were made in 1949 and 1952 by the same method. In November 1956, four values (½d, 1d, 1½d & 2d) were printed on a larger rotary recess printing press, on thinner, whiter paper, resulting in the appearance of deeper colors. In 1959, two values (3d and 2shillings) were printed by the same method, but in new colors, green and blue.
