Description : A group of large-size Antique Wooden Butter Molds, Northeastern US origin, 19thC. Each deeply-carved design varies as described below. First , a Swan with water and tall grass. Next , a Heart with wheat accents. Last , a Thistle or Floral stamp with integrated handle. Each design is framed by two concentric rings around the perimeter. The photos are probably the best description. Condition : Each stamp with honest wear, soiling, rubs, etc. Wonderful patina throughout; wood species varies. They have not been cleaned. Swan mold has a shortened handle stem; stamp has been reattached with flathead screw. Some natural checks noted on the upper housing, as shown. Rare and desirable design. Heart mold has expected surface wear, otherwise quite primitive and appealing. Thistle press has some surface staining, otherwise attractive and very well-carved. See photos for complete details and close-ups. Please consider them as part of the description. Swan is 4-1/4W overall with a 3-1/2 diameter press.
